One Book One Valley presents a series of events on a common book and theme. Come to Cook Memorial Library on Wednesday, October 10th at 6:30 p.m. for refreshments and a discussion of “The Old American” by Ernest Hebert, and led by Patti Rau. Copies are available for loaning at the library.
This program is one of many celebrating this book in our area in September and October, culminating with an author visit by Hebert at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 24th at the Conway Village Congregational Church (”the brown church”) on Main Street. Author Ernest Hebert will speak about his writing, The Old American, themes throughout his novels, teaching, and being a New England writer. He will also answer questions from the audience and sign his books. This program is free and open to the community, whether or not you’ve read the book. Refreshments will be served after the program. For more information,

Welcome
This is the April 2008 upgrade of Cook Memorial Library’s new website, in development by Scriblio. It’s a brand new model for libraries, constructed to be interactive throughout, and to give website users the same opportunity for give-and-take that’s one of the joys of visiting our physical library on Tamworth’s Main Street.
If this is your first visit to the new site, please go to the HELP link. It will show you how to navigate the website. Please feel free to comment. Our automation system, InfoCentre, can be accessed directly for reserves and renews, and creating reading lists. -
